Audience research and reader profiles

This is the research I did about what sort of things attract readers to a magazine/what they would expect from a magazine, in order to gain a better insight into what to include in my magazine:

This is the research I did on pre-existing music magazines in order to understand what type of audience I should be targeting, and how I should target this audience:

NME magazine:

Male 69%
Female 31%
Average age 24
Working full time 52%
Working part time 7%
Still studying 29%
ABC 1 65%
Circulation 40,948
Readership 369,000
94% of readers use the internet.
76% of readers have broadband and spend an average of 2.4 hours on the internet every day.

Kerrang! readers are the heaviest music consumers, purchasing over 6 albums per month on average (53% more than the national average) and 8 times more likely to spend over £200 a year on albums.
The readers are also 5.5 times more likely to attend a rock gig.

My media product:

Male 50%
Female 50%
Average age 15-24
Readers of my product will also be heavy music consumer, spending more than the average on albums each year, similar to Kerrang! readers.
Readers of my magazine will also spend a similar amount of time on the internet to NME readers and be more likely to attend rock gigs, like readers of Kerrang! magazine.
